TOPEKA WEST FORENSICS

Dear Coach:

The Topeka West High School Forensics squad would like to invite you and your squad to compete at our tournament on March 31-April 1, 2023.

We will be offering a Non-Qual tournament on Friday.

• Events offered: Oration, Info 10, DX, IX, HI, DI, DUO, PRO, POE, POI, and IMP (Friday events are marked with an NQ for Non Qualified.

• Students may enter these IE events ONLY IF they have not already qualified to State.

• Schools will be expected to bring 1 judge for every 6 entries. We will strive to add a small community pool, but your ability to bring judges who can be used each round will be critical to this tournament's success.

RD 1 - 3:45

RD 2 - 5:25

FINALS - 7:10

We will be offering the following events on Saturday: Original Oration, Informative 10, Domestic Extemp., International Extemp., Humorous Interp., Dramatic Interp., Duo Interp, Prose, Poetry, POI, and Impromptu.

Finals - 1:30 (ASAP)

Awards - ASAP Assembly in Cafe

Fees are $5 per entry, and $10 for DUO entries.

Double and Triple Entries: You may only enter a student in one of the two extemp events. Triple entries are not permitted for students entered in an extemp event, and we do not recommend them for anyone, because of the nature of our campus setup. Rounds will conclude on time, so triple-enter at your own risk.

Judges: On Friday, we will need schools to provide 1 judge per 6 entries. Saturday, we expect to fill our judging needs with members of our community, but head coaches and assistants should be prepared to fill in as needed.

Sweepstakes will be based on your top 16 across all SATURDAY SPEECH EVENTS.

The top six competitors in Individual Events will advance to finals and receive medals for their placement. The top two schools in sweepstakes points will receive trophies.
